Expanding Import Sharing Future

The first China International Import Expo opened in Shanghai on the morning of the 5th. President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech.  Xi Jinping stressed that China will further reduce tariffs, improve the level of customs clearance facilitation, reduce the institutional costs of import links and speed up the development of new formats such as cross-border electronic commerce.

China is the world's second largest economy, with a market of nearly 1.4 billion people and imports accounting for about 1 / 10 of the world's share, and has remained the second largest importer of goods in the world for nine consecutive years.  China's demand will shake the world like its huge manufacturing output before.

Xi Jinping: China's economy is a sea, not a small pond.  There are times when the sea is calm and there are also times when the wind blows and the rain falls.  " There is no wind crazy rain suddenly, it is not the sea.  Strong winds and showers can overturn small ponds, but not the sea.  "

Xi Jinping: After numerous storms, the sea is still there.  After more than 5000 years of hardship, China is still here.  Facing the future, China will always be here!

Xi Jinping: In today's deepening economic globalization, it is a narrow dead end that the law of the jungle and winner-takes-all is adopted. Inclusion and mutual benefit and win-win are the wider path to the world.

In the next 15 years, China is expected to import goods and services in excess of US $ 24 trillion and US $ 10 trillion, respectively.

Since November 1, 2018, China has reduced import duties for 1585 tax purposes.  So far, China's total tariff level has dropped from 9.8 % last year to 7.5 %.

Xi Jinping: We have decided, first, to add a new area of China's Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone;  The second is to set up a innovation board and pilot registration system in the Shanghai Stock Exchange.  Third, it will support the development of regional integration in the Yangtze River Delta and become a national strategy.  Efforts should be made to implement the new development concept, build a modern economic system, push forward the deepening reform at a higher starting point and opening to the outside world at a higher level, cooperate with the construction of " the belt and road initiative", the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the construction of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and improve the spatial layout of China's reform and opening up.
