Sudden! 115 containers fell into the water, and Taicang Port ships turned over!

At 05: 20 on November 26, 2018, the Yangtze River Maritime Safety Administration reported by telephone that the " Pratt Whitney 1" ( dry cargo ship, no load ) went down to Taicang No. 7 floating water area ( 41 kilometers of the lower Yangtze River, Taicang Maritime Safety Administration area ) and collided with the " Huayuan 9999" ( container ship, with 4 people on board, carrying 115 standard containers and no dangerous goods in the container ).


As a result, the " Huayuan 9999" capsized the water, and four people on board were rescued after falling into the water. There were no casualties. All 115 containers fell into the water, of which 10 were floating on the river.


According to the latest ship positioning, the " Huayuan 9999" container ship is still stranded in Taicang port up to now.


Four sea cruisers have already carried out rescue work on the site and have contacted the tugboat to reach the site.


Taicang Maritime Safety Administration Command Center has released news that temporary traffic control has been implemented in Taicang area waters, and all docks in the area are not allowed to enter or leave the anchorage ground, berthing or berthing is suspended.  The north and south troughs of Shanghai Port are navigable normally, and have not been suspended due to poor visibility.
